We Need More Porn Icon Documentaries
May 10, 2005

...at least if they boast soundtracks like Centaur's new film about pornstar Colton Ford, appropriately named "Naked Fame." Honestly, I haven't seen the film, and the trailer looks great, but to be honest... I'm all about the soundtrack. Seriously folks, it's about Colton Ford, I'm sure we'll all be able to endure looking at this man for an hour and a half. It's not like you buy porn for the solid plot or cinematography.
So back to the soundtrack. This baby carries me. It's a little collection of the Solar City's "best-of" library. It has songs by Colton, Erin Hamilton, Matt Zarley (and how hot is he!), Pepper Mashay, and Debby Holiday. Most of the songs you know... but the best reason to shell out the $18 is for the revamped, Solar City Radio Mix of Samantha Fox's "Naughty Girls Needs Love Too." OMG... I guarantee you will be hearing that song every Saturday night this Summer.
Check out samples and find out where to buy it at www.centaurmusic.com .

U B Whistlin' Baby!
April 29, 2005

I doubt she's talking about "Mr. Brightside," but you HAVE to have Carolina Marquez's "The Killer's Song."
I don’t know much about her... all I know is this damn song will not leave my brain! I love it! It’s not necessarily peak hour playable, but it would make a fabulous break. The muddled english is hot, and the whistling is SO hot. Truth is, I don't know what the hell she's singing about, but I guarantee you’ll either love it or hate it. Either way, you’ll be whistling the melody (yes, whistling) incessantly.

Nancy Sinatra, Who Knew?
April 29, 2005

Nancy Sinatra's 'Bang, Bang' has been re-remixed by the Audio Bullys andit is FUN FUN TWEEK FUN! Having lately been used in Quentin Tarantino's motion picture 'Kill Bill Vol.1', the dynamic duo cut up the vocals and splice them up with slamming 4/4 beats with added dark tones.
This remix is now finally available to buy on CD and 12" on May 16th. CD 2 (SOURCDX111) will also contain an enhanced video track which features footage of Nancy Sinatra singing "Bang, Bang" taken from the TV show Frank Sinatra: A Man And His Music Part II (1966).
And, uhm... while poking around for more info on the track I discovered Nancy bared her little suzie in Playboy in 1995... she was like 183 and looked the bomb.com, get some gurl.

Kinda Like Dannii, with Bigger Boobs
April 25, 2005

I’m missing the club antics of Miss Dannii Minogue. Kylie’s slutty little ‘sis (She’s GOT to be tired of hearing that). Since her f-a-b-o-o hit, “You Won’t Forget About Me” with Flower Power is about 18 minutes old now, I’m ready for my next Dannii fix... enter Lisa Scott-Lee.
I heard her newest track “Lately” in some (enter audience-appropriate party favor here)-induced state somewhere, and convinced myself it was Dannii. Sober, and a few days later, and a bit of sleuthing, I discovered it was actually Lisa Scott-Lee, and proceeded to her website.
Yum on the eyes, by the way. Gay bois love a diva with big ta-tahs. Her music is very this-month-Dannii, and as far as I know she only has three songs and a slick little web site. Seeing her wedding pictures online (to Mr. “-Lee,” I’m assuming) kinda shattered the whole untouchable diva thing for me a bit. Who knows, Dannii might buy this song, re-record and release it as her her own too!
Check it all out. “Lately,” Lisa Scott-Lee and her most intimate wedding album picture collection online. ..and her great rack, if you're into that kind of thing, at www.lisascottlee.com.

I FINALLY FOUND WHERE I WANNA BE
April 05, 2005

Stereo Star is my new obsession. Well... at least for the next 37 minutes. The vocal mix of "Utopia (Where I Want to Be)" with the vocal stylings of Mia J is what sealed the deal for me. I love her. The guitar is a little Nevins-esque, but not quite there, and in some of the higher parts of the song, you can hear a little Madonna-style wailing (circa the 1980's speed up era).

I've heard through the club-whore-grapevine that the half of Cicada has something to do with this little summertime nugget of sunshine. I don't really know too too much about this track. I just know it's a great summer song. If you haven't heard it yet, you will. Probably a lot. Probably too much. As a matter of fact, I predict this is definitely going to be a hot-trick track. You know... like the hottie trick you find unexpectedly (even though you're really always looking), you fall in complete lust with, obsess over, can't get enough of, then start to get over it after a while, and then when you're over it all your friends have to tell you about how great he was. Wait a minute... I digress... anywho
Check it out. The song is "Utopia (Where I Want to Be)" the vocal mix, by Stereo Star featuring Mia J.
The track is scheduled for release on April 11 via hit label Free2Air (Narcotic Thrust, Mousse T, iio, Jason Nevins).

Jive Decides No "Dick" for Britney
February 24, 2005

The import single of "Do Somethin'" by Britney just dropped and it works. In my opinion, the song is great (and slightly ripped off, uhm, I mean, inspired by Ms. Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For?"). The mixes help disguise Brit Brit's vocals so when all you bitter fifies that hear it during peak hours, you don't start discussing her commercialism or "lack-of-talent" on the dancefloor (and seriously... what's more amusing than some two-tabbed-half-a-cap sweaty mess trying to discuss the semantics of pop culture phenomenons?).
The single has the album version, a radio edit of the "DJ Monk Remix," (my fave) full length "E Smooves Thick Vocal Mix," and for fun, the Valentin remix of "Everytime." The "DJ Monk Remix" is a great electro-sleaze, Scissor Sister type track. Perhaps, too slow for peak-hour airtime, but perfect for cardio or faggin' it up in your car on the way to the club. I guess Jive is still concerned about Britney's younger audience and decided to drop the "Dick" from the " E Smooves Thick Dick Vocal Mix," but it's still hot. Granted there are a few breakbeat mixes surfacing in the clubs and online that are hot too, but chances are you'll be hearing the "E Smooves Thick Vocal" on a nightly basis for a while, unfortunately, sans-Dick.

WINTER PARTY - MIAMI - MARCH 2-7
February 23, 2005

Granted I tend to get a little more excited about events that I am actually attending, but Winter Party 2005 is right around the corner and I am so ret 2 go. If you missed the White Party (because you felt too fat) then make sure not to miss this! Next to White Party, it's the biggest gay-themed party in South Beach.
Winter Party™ Festival is a world-class beach dance party and cultural festival benefiting the Miami-Dade gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. So if you need the extra motivation (like 10,000 'mos dancing around in bathing suits isn't enough), then you got your good conscious cause.
Yours Cruelly will be there, and expect live updates. I am most excited about Manny Lehman spinning at the Men In Uniform party, but the Cultural Pass is quite the cherry. Check out the info at www.winterparty.com today... it's not too late to book your passes.

DYNAMIX Pres. SWEET SENSATION ~ My Body Tu Cuerpo
January 24, 2005
Dynamix comes through with yet another hit record. This time its with a familiar face to the dance community. (Sweet Sensation's Betty Dee). This one will for sure be turning heads all across the country.
Rene Hewitt - The News Letter NYC

This song really works in my JR'S WORLD sets on KTU. The station gets great feedback everytime I play it, and it works on a booming BIG ROOM system when I play a vocal set in the clubs in both NYC and Miami. This record is BUZZIN'.....
Junior Vasquez [103.5 FM WKTU - Nyc, NY]
Masterfully combining powerful tribal beats, a spanish language verse, pretty blue eyed vocals from Sweet Sensation vocalist Betty Dee, and hooks galore; Dynamix have cooked up another dancefloor smash. Catchier than you can imagine, "My Body" is one of the few club records that has the potential to crossover for mainstream success.
DJ Ron Slomowicz [Guide - DanceMusic.About.Com]
When I debuted this for my audience, as soon as the track ended, my phones were lit up. It's been in rotation and regularly requested for the past 2 & 1/2 months. The pumping track, mixed with Betty's one of kind vocals, is nothing short of a perfect combination. The inclusion of the bi-lingual lyrics is incredibly wise as we see Reggaton exploding at radio. This can and should do the same. The shelf life of this record, with the proper support from all involved, can be lengthy and open up doors for future projects. This is simply a great record. I'm glad I am able to help expose this on the West Coast.
DJ Kazzeo [90.9 FM KHDC Radio - Salinas, CA]

SKELETONS BALL: TRICKS AND TREATS GALORE
November 16, 2004
First let me apologize to everyone for not keeping up with my blogs… I think it took me this long to sleep off my Dallas excursion. I’m going to keep my review here brief, and to sum it all up:
Texas Circuit Boyz’ Events are definitely a necessary addition to any party boy’s itinerary.
The Skeletons Ball was peppered with a great team of Djs and performers… DJ Alyson Calagna (one of my new favorites) and DJ Demarko from the Global Grooves tour were particularly hot. And although I have never seen (or at least been coherent enough to remember seeing) a G’Licious Production (sorry if I raped the spelling) before… I will try not to miss another one.
The venues themselves were a bit small, but being that it was the first annual “Skeletons Ball,” it was appropriate. The main party was definitely the highlight for me. The party was in a great space, the lighting was completely tricked out and the water was only about $375 a bottle. The turn out was good, and will definitely become huge in the following parties to come.
Traveling from venue to venue was a bit taxing (there was no shuttle service, other than the host hotel’s), but the locals and the promoters were so friendly and accommodating, that there was always someone to help. And being the person I am, I did miss having the VIP areas I’ve grown fond of… but like I said, everyone was so great and welcoming (and handsome), a secluded VIP area would have gone to waste. You know us high-maintenance party bois, we just want the option.
All in all, the boys of Texas were great, and Texas Circuit Boyz are well on their way to being one of the top party promoters. Considering that this was the first circuit event that TCB has done (to my knowledge), it went surprisingly seamless. My only suggestions would be to have a posted schedule of a shuttle service (also to be included in the welcome pack), and to have more of a VIP status established, i.e., lounges/complimentary bottled water/bananas, etc. Although, they would have to up the ticket price ($125 for VIP was a steal), I think that people would pay for the added amenities.
Finally thanks to everyone who made my trip to Dallas such a great one! Especially Gilley (you rockstar), Geof, Petie, James, Karl, Proctor & Porter, and my newest chatty-kathy-sister-from-another mister Craig, I can’t wait to catch up with you all again soon!
You can check out TCB at www.texascircuitboyz.com.
(And the only cowboy hat I saw was some big ‘ole tourist in the airport.)
